Joy Cowley

Joy Cowley was one of the world’s most loved writers and had written many books for both adults and children, including over 400 books specifically for early readers. Her first adult novel was adapted into the 1971 film The Night Digger by screenwriter Roald Dahl. She won Book of the Year three times at the New Zealand Post Children’s Book Awards. Joy has had many awards including a D.Litt. Roberta Long Medal (USA), and is a Distinguished Companion of the New Zealand Order of Merit in 2005.
